Meals Provision of your meals this weekend is in the very capable
hands of Edith In order that they may prepare themselves, please ensure that you have notified the reservations steward of any dietary restrictions, allergies etc when you make your reservation. Due to very limited uptake in previous years, we will not be providing Traveler's Fare on Friday evening or lunch on Saturday. On Friday, many people ate on the way, or used takeaways etc once they got here. On Saturday, many people took lunch in Winchester after they had completed the pilgrimage. There is a very good fish & chip shop very close by (see aerial view) and the Bell Inn is equally close. Note both these only serve until 9pm. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and takeaways in Winchester itself. On Saturday, light refreshments may be available from the 100 Mens Hall cafe. Please check back regularly, as this page will be updated when we have further details from our master chef. Friday Evening - Travelers' FareNOT PROVIDED Saturday Morning - BreakfastCereals, cold meats, cheeses, bread, coffee, tea etc Saturday Afternoon - LunchNOT PROVIDED Saturday Evening - FeastDear Pilgrams, Here below is the menu for the feast. This is the “In Festo Sancte Trinitatis in cena” or The dinner for the Feast of the Holy Trinity as served to Henry VI in the early 15th Century. It was published in Thomas Austin’s Two Fifteenth Century Cookbooks in 1888
I will be recreating this exact menu as close as humanly possible (so yes, of course no Heron), but as you can tell from the above it is complex menu with a lot of meat. However, please rest assured that ALL the allergies I have been informed about have and will be catered for and no one should leave the table without a full and joyful meal. This is to be a feast of surprises, so please allow your cook to keep some of her surprises until the meal is served you! On Saturday can I ask that anyone with an allergy come and talk directly to me even if I have spoken to you in the planning stage or you think I already know, because I will have thing to talk to you about and frankly, would rather be safe than sorry. Please can you also inform Simon Talbot (Joel Uckleman) who is the Hall Steward for the evening where you are going to be seated so any special dishes can go straight to you. Edith of Hedingham Sunday Morning - BreakfastCereals, cold meats, cheeses, bread, coffee, tea etc
