Driving: The site is very close to Junction 11 of the M3 motorway. Exit at
Junction 11. Follow the signs towards Winchester / St Cross (B3335). At the
second roundabout, take the third exit toward St Cross. This will be the
B3355 (St Cross Road). After 1/2 mile, you will enter a 30mph zone. A little
beyond the 30mph signs, you will see the Bell Inn public house on the right
hand side. Turn right immediately after The Bell Inn pub into Back Street,
the hospital driveway. (if you reach the traffic lights and pedestrian
crossing, you have gone too far...). The site entrance is at the gatehouse a
couple of hundred yards up the road. If you are looking for the mundane camp
and parking area, continue past the gatehouse, follow the wall of the site,
bearing right at the end of the wall and continue until you see the church
on your right.
(Note - the route from J10 looks ok on the map, but trust me, it isn't
unless you really have a desire to visit the local waste recycling centre.
There are also routes from J9, but only if you really like one-way systems)
See Logistics page regarding parking and
unloading etc.
By Train: Winchester station is one hour from London Waterloo and also has
good connections from other major cities, particularly via Reading. The
station is about two miles from the site: a forty minute walk or a short taxi
ride. Lifts can be arranged with the Reservations Steward.
By Air: Southampton Airport is ten miles from Winchester. The airport is
right next to Southampton Parkway railway station, which has frequent trains
(15 mins) to Winchester. Contact the reservations steward if you need help in
getting from the airport.
